Lake Sevan Level Drops by 3 cm in 5 Days
The Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center has reported on the hydrological regime of Lake Sevan for the period from August 28 to September 3.
According to the report, the level of Lake Sevan decreased by 3 cm during this timeframe, reaching 1900.38 m as of September 3, 2023. This is 17 cm lower than the level on the same day last year, yet 10 cm higher than the level recorded on January 1, 2023.
During the irrigation period from August 28 to September 3, a total of 5.767 million m³ of water was withdrawn from Lake Sevan. The cumulative volume of water withdrawn from May 14 to September 3 amounted to 202.908 million m³.
From August 28 to September 3, the volume of water transferred to Lake Sevan through the Arpa-Sevan water canal was 0.602 million m³, while the total from January 1 to September 3, 2023, reached 87.203 million m³.
