Russian Billionaire Melnychenko Compares Sanctions Against Russia to Nuclear Attack on Hiroshima
One of Russia's richest businessmen, Andrei Melnychenko, has compared the sanctions imposed against Russia to the bombing of Hiroshima.
In an interview with the Financial Times, billionaire Andrei Melnychenko likened the sanctions against himself and his associated companies to the nuclear attack on Hiroshima at the end of World War II in 1945. Melnychenko, who is the founder of an international fertilizer manufacturing company, stated that if you harm millions of people who are not involved in the conflict, you are committing a war crime.
At the same time, when asked whether what Russia is doing in Ukraine is not a crime, Melnychenko responded more cautiously, saying, “I am not on the ground, I am not an expert, I cannot describe this or that specific case.”
