What Opportunities Will the Construction of the Complex Road Provide: Yerevan Municipality Statement

The Yerevan Municipality reports: "In response to numerous inquiries regarding the ongoing reconstruction of the road leading to the Sports and Concert Complex, we find it necessary to inform you. The construction of the road was proposed by the management of the 'Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex' LLC.

This will help avoid congestion during events and emergencies, and in case of unfortunate incidents, it will facilitate the faster evacuation of people from the complex to a safe area. Additionally, ambulances and fire-rescue vehicles will have an alternative route to enter the territory of the Sports and Concert Complex.

We would like to emphasize that vehicle traffic on the newly constructed road will be allowed exclusively during events at the Sports and Concert Complex, as well as in emergency situations. The procurement for the construction works has been carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia and in compliance with the procedures established by the 'Law on Procurement.' The project has received a positive conclusion."

It should be noted that we previously reported a tense situation on Tsitsernakaberd highway. The Municipality has decided to demolish the footpaths leading to the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex, which are paved with stone, and to lay asphalt instead. Citizens have gathered there.
