Former Nigerian President and Family Contract Malaria
Julya
Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Bazoum, who is currently being held in detention, has contracted malaria along with his family members. This was announced by the country's Foreign Minister, Hassoumi Massoudou.
“There is no electricity. There is no refrigerator to keep the food, and it is quite hot now. It is more than 40 degrees in Niger right now. There are many mosquitoes, and they are having trouble sleeping. They have all contracted malaria due to the mosquitoes,” Massoudou explained.
The foreign minister noted that the president's health condition is poor, but his spirits are high.
It is worth noting that a military coup took place in Niger on July 27, and the ousted President Bazoum is under house arrest.
