For Three Days, Men of Artsakh Have Been Staying Overnight Near Askeran: Determined Not to Accept Bread from the Hands of Genocide Perpetrators

Residents of various regions in Artsakh continue to block the road with the Askeran residents, standing firm in their resolve. This was stated in an interview with 168.am by Anahit Petrosyan, the secretary of the Askeran administrative district.

“Yesterday, Azerbaijan attempted to bring those supplies into Askeran through Russian peacekeepers, but the people categorically rejected it. They unanimously declared that they have no need for that flour, as Azerbaijan is currently committing genocide in Artsakh, therefore, they will not accept bread from the hands of a genocidal perpetrator. For three days, our men have been staying near that road to prevent any such load from entering Artsakh. During the day, women also join the men. There is a collective determination that under no circumstances should any load enter Artsakh,” stated Anahit Petrosyan.

She informed that today, members of the National Assembly have also gone to that area of the road, but she has no information on what they discussed. “I believe no force can convince these people, as they have been under pressure and starvation for more than eight months; they will not retreat. It should be made clear to the Azerbaijanis that we are not beggars; we are not asking for charity. Let them open the way for our lives so that we can live on our land,” concluded the secretary of the Askeran administrative district.
