Clear Decision to Keep Akna Road Closed and Unused: David Ishkhanyan
During a press conference today, the President of the Artsakh National Assembly, David Ishkhanyan, addressed the situation on the Akna-Stepanakert road.
"Regarding the Akna-Stepanakert road, yesterday's action by Azerbaijan is very unacceptable for us, and Azerbaijan should know that the operation of that road is unacceptable for the authorities of Artsakh," he stated. "Azerbaijan is making another provocative move and trying to show that all possible steps are being taken by them to meet the needs of the people of Artsakh."
According to Ishkhanyan, there is another nuance: Azerbaijan is trying to withdraw the Red Cross office from Stepanakert through its Red Mining initiatives.
The National Assembly president also noted that there are Russian peacekeepers and the relevant checkpoint of the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs stationed along the Akna (Agdam) road.
"I declare to the world, there is a clear decision to keep the Agdam road closed and unused. Our society should not have tendencies of distrust," he said.
