The Verdict Against Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan Has Been Suspended
The Pakistani court has suspended the verdict against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who was facing charges of corruption. He was threatened with three years of imprisonment due to a corruption case.
The former prime minister's lawyer has stated that it is currently unclear whether this will lead to his release from prison. It is noteworthy that Imran Khan was jailed on August 5 after being convicted of a three-year prison sentence for illegally selling state gifts during his tenure as prime minister from 2018 to 2022.
As a result of the conviction, and in light of the general elections anticipated in the coming months, the Pakistani Election Commission has also barred Khan from participating in elections for five years.
