Putin Will Not Attend Prigozhin's Funeral: Peskov
Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the funeral of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner PMC. This was announced by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, according to Russian media.
“The president’s presence is not ensured. We have no specific information about the burial. Nonetheless, the decision is made by the relatives and friends. Without them, we cannot say anything here,” he stated.
It should be noted that today in Saint Petersburg, the ceremony for the burial of Wagner members who died in an aviation accident in the Tver region has begun.
Recall that on August 23, Yevgeny Prigozhin’s private jet was involved in an accident in the Tver region. The founder of the Wagner PMC was on the passenger list published by Rosaviatsiya. Prigozhin’s death has been officially confirmed by the Investigative Committee of Russia. Ten people died in the incident, including three crew members.
