Iran's President Believes Membership in BRICS and SCO Will Help Fight Sanctions
Iran's membership in BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will assist the Islamic Republic in overcoming the negative impacts of Western sanctions. This was stated by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
“Our membership in the BRICS global alliance and the regional Shanghai Cooperation Organization can play a significant role in combating U.S. sanctions,” Raisi said at a press conference in Tehran.
He noted that Iran's economic potential will strengthen the positions of both organizations on the international stage. “Considering our numerous capabilities, we deem Iran's membership in BRICS and SCO, as well as participation in other regional alliances, to be very effective. This effectiveness is mutual, as all participants in the organizations, including ourselves, can benefit from Iran's membership,” Raisi emphasized.
