Russian Tourist Dies While Climbing Elbrus: Fell from 5000 Meters
A tourist from Krasnodar has died during an ascent of Mount Elbrus after falling from a height of 5000 meters. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
It is noted that the man sustained life-threatening injuries. Rescue teams have airlifted the body of the deceased using a commercial helicopter and handed it over to investigative authorities.
He was part of a 14-member group. The causes and circumstances of the incident are being investigated. According to the agency, 24 rescuers from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, 3 units of equipment, and a commercial helicopter were involved in the operations.
Additionally, it was reported that the other members of the group were unharmed and successfully descended from Elbrus.
