Spanish Football Federation Head Resigns After Kissing Female Player

The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, is set to resign on August 25 following a scandalous kiss with Spanish footballer Jennifer Hermoso. El Español reports that in return, the Higher Sports Council (CSD) will close the disciplinary case opened against Rubiales.

On August 20, during the Women's World Cup final held in Australia and New Zealand, the Spanish national team defeated England 1-0, marking the first time Spanish female players have won the tournament.

During the awards ceremony, Rubiales celebrated the national team's victory by hugging and kissing Hermoso on the lips. Many journalists and fans criticized Rubiales, calling his behavior excessive.
