Video: Spain Football Federation President Suspended After Scandalous Kiss

The President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, has been provisionally suspended from any type of football activity at both national and international levels during a disciplinary procedure. This action was prompted by the Federation President's kiss with Spanish footballer Jennifer Hermoso. The suspension period is set to last 90 days, starting from August 26, as reported by FIFA's website.

Additionally, the disciplinary committee has issued two orders to protect Jenni Hermoso and has requested Rubiales and Federation officials to refrain from personally contacting the player, her loved ones, or third parties.

The Spanish Football Federation stated in a press release that on the morning of August 26, the organization received notification from FIFA's disciplinary committee regarding the suspension of Luis Rubiales. Rubiales himself has stated that he will “legally defend” himself in the appropriate bodies, expressing full confidence in FIFA’s institutions and affirming that this allows him to begin his defense so that the truth prevails and his innocence is fully proven.

Luis Rubiales kissed midfielder Jenni Hermoso on the lips when the Spanish national team celebrated their victory in the Women's World Cup final on August 20. Rubiales claims that the kiss was consensual, while Hermoso asserts otherwise.
