Video: Lavrov Welcomed with Dances in Johannesburg

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, arrived today, August 22, in Johannesburg (South Africa), where he will participate in the BRICS summit. He was greeted with dances upon his arrival.

It is worth noting that the BRICS summit will take place in Johannesburg from August 22 to 24. Lavrov will represent Russia at the meetings, while President Vladimir Putin will participate via video connection.

The main topics on the leaders' agenda will include issues related to the expansion of the organization and the transition to national currencies in mutual settlements. Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Africa announced that 23 countries have officially applied to join BRICS, with several more expressing interest at an unofficial level.
