VIDEO: Nikol Pashinyan Comments on the Recent Tragic Car Accident in Shirak
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed road safety during a government meeting, emphasizing the need for measures to be taken in this direction.
Pashinyan mentioned the recent tragic car accident in Shirak, stating: "Immediately after the incident, we tried to understand what our services could have done to prevent the accident. The first thought was that if there were issues with the vehicle drivers' documents, we could have made a reservation to the police regarding why those vehicles without proper documentation were not detected on the road. However, we quickly realized that driver licenses are also legally valid.
Moreover, we have traced the driving violations of the drivers; there is nothing particularly significant. We cannot say that they had some special tendency toward violations; I believe the infractions they committed are those that would certainly occur with any driver. They were fined for exceeding the established speed limit by 2 km/h, crossing the line at a red light, and other similar violations. The cars were insured and passed technical inspections, and the case will be clarified, as far as we know, by the investigation."
