Azerbaijani MP Accuses Red Cross of Protecting Armenian Interests
Azerbaijani MP Vugar Iskenderov has accused the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) of protecting "Armenian interests." He stated, "Everyone knows that various international organizations, including the ICRC, maintain double standards towards Azerbaijan; their words do not match their actions. We noticed this in the case of missing persons."
He further noted that "the incident provides grounds to say that the ICRC is conducting a crusade mission under the guise of humanitarian principles," claiming that ICRC staff have adopted "the ideology of crusade and are building their work in this direction." According to Iskenderov, the ICRC only pursues the interests of Armenia and Armenians, presenting itself from their positions: "As you can see, the ICRC serves the interests of those who bear their emblem. In other words, the religious factor plays a crucial role in the committee's stance. In short, the events that have occurred give grounds to say that the ICRC acts as a symbol of crusaders, thinking only about Armenians and serving their interests."
