Thousands of Fake Pepsi Bottles Seized in Russia
Mariam Z.
Russian customs officials have seized 12,000 bottles of carbonated water from a large truck traveling from Vladikavkaz to Taganrog, with an illegally affixed Pepsi logo.
According to the Telegram channel of the Federal Customs Service (FCS), the value of the counterfeit products is estimated at one and a half million rubles. The owners of the beverages are now facing potential criminal charges. Customs officials did not disclose the production location of the drink.
It is important to note that PepsiCo ceased production of its popular carbonated drinks, including Pepsi Cola, 7Up, Mountain Dew, and Mirinda, in Russia since August 2022.
