Photos: Pashinyan Visits Goris, Karashen, and Akner to Review Infrastructure Development Programs
On August 19, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan continued his visit to the Syunik region. The Prime Minister first visited Goris, where he was briefed on the programs implemented and ongoing projects in the communities funded by the Government and through subvention programs.
The renovation works on the roads leading to the 5th district of Goris, covering 1,067 meters, have been completed. The total cost of the subvention program, which began in 2022, is 194 million drams, with 45% allocated from the community budget and 55% from the state budget.
The Prime Minister was also presented with updates on the asphalting and improvement works of part of Galstyan Street, the yard of building number 60, and the yards of residential buildings numbered 146, 148, and 150 on Mashtots Street in Goris.
Next, the Prime Minister observed the restoration works of the historical environment of Old Goris, which are being carried out by the Territorial Development Fund. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of the work and emphasized the importance of ensuring quality implementation.
The Prime Minister's next stop was the Karashen settlement in the Tegh community, where a new playground has been constructed under a subvention program. In Karashen, the Prime Minister conversed with residents and learned about their issues. One resident mentioned that they had benefited from a housing construction program provided by the Government, which offers 16 million drams for border settlement areas. Nikol Pashinyan welcomed the initiative and expressed readiness to discuss further opportunities for the program's implementation.
At the end of the visit, the Prime Minister reviewed the renovation works on the road leading to the Armenian-French Cardiological Center on 15th Street in Akner, where more than 70% of the road construction has been completed. The total value of the project is 223 million drams. Recently, the Armenian-French Cardiological Center has been equipped with modern technical means and devices as part of the Government's urgent programs, which will enable the provision of high-quality services to citizens. A blood bank also operates within the center.
Nikol Pashinyan paid tribute at the Goris Pantheon to honor the memory of heroes who dedicated their lives for the Homeland. The Prime Minister's visit to the Syunik region has concluded.
