Iran–Armenia Cooperation to Expand
The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mher Grigoryan, and the newly appointed Iranian ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, today discussed prospects for collaboration in trade, economy, and energy sectors. This information was reported by the press service of the Armenian government.
It was noted that the interlocutors addressed key issues on the agenda of Armenian-Iranian relations.
“The signing of the document on the extension and increase of volumes of the ‘Gas for Electricity’ agreement on August 10 was emphasized by both sides, as it will contribute to the expansion of cooperation between the two countries,” the statement read.
The discussion also covered the activities of the intergovernmental joint commission of the Republic of Armenia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister, and the bilateral matters of mutual interest that are being addressed within its framework.
