VIDEO: All Flights Canceled at Sicily's Catania Airport After Volcano Eruption

Catania Airport in Sicily has canceled all flights on Monday due to volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Etna, European media reports.

The cancellations will remain in effect until 20:00 local time (22:00 Yerevan time).

Passengers have been advised to contact airlines for further information regarding their flights. Overall, the situation has affected tens of thousands of people.

The airport is located approximately 50 km from the volcano.

Mount Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe and is located in eastern Sicily.
