Details on the Victims and Injured from the Tragic Car Accident in Shirak Province
The Investigative Committee of Armenia's Shirak Province has identified the victims, injured, and drivers involved in a tragic car accident that occurred today in Shirak Province. According to Shamshyan.com, the ZIL truck was driven by 33-year-old Hamlet Petrosyan, a resident of Shirak Province, while the Volkswagen Crafter was operated by 35-year-old Marlen Margaryan from Yerevan.
As a result of the collision, various hospitals received several injured individuals, including driver H. Petrosyan, passengers of the Volkswagen Crafter: 27-year-old Margarita Gabrielyan (residence being verified), 34-year-old Lilit Ghusasov, 39-year-old Edward Sahakyan, 38-year-old Paytsar Avanesyan from Kotayk Province, 23-year-old Edward Koloyan from Yerevan, and driver M. Margaryan. Also, co-passengers included 21-year-old Musheg Eloyan from Ararat Province, 42-year-old Lianna Kochinyan from Yerevan, 18-year-old Eva Parsyan and 27-year-old Nare Amaryan from Syunik Province, as well as 21-year-old Helen Dadayan from the Republic of Artsakh, and 24-year-old Amalya Mnatsakanyan, 50-year-old Baris Torosyan, and 45-year-old Anahit Hakobyan from Gegharkunik Province. 51-year-old Alvard Martirosyan and 56-year-old Arayik Muradyan from Kotayk Province tragically died at the scene.
It is noteworthy that the accident occurred around 00:30 on the 90 km stretch of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway, in the administrative area of Lanjik village, where a head-on collision took place between the Volkswagen Crafter passenger vehicle and the ZIL truck. The impact resulted in the deaths of 11 individuals, with 6 others being transferred with severe injuries to the Gyumri Medical Center.
