Video: Ecuador Presidential Candidate Shot Dead

In Ecuador, presidential candidate Fernando Villavicencio was shot dead after a campaign event. He was shot three times in the head. The political figure was taken to the intensive care unit where he died without regaining consciousness.

The assassination occurred in the capital city of Quito, following a pre-election rally. The alleged shooter was also injured and later died.

In total, nine people were injured in the shooting, including two police officers and a candidate for the National Assembly. Six individuals suspected of organizing the attack have been detained.
