Pressure Must Be Applied on Aliyev: Ruben Vardanyan
If international mediators truly want direct negotiations between Baku and Stepanakert within international frameworks, they must refrain from the so-called Agdam road propaganda, as long as the Lachin corridor is not fully open and free from checkpoints that could lead to the hostage-taking of Armenians. This was stated by the former Prime Minister of Artsakh, Ruben Vardanyan, on his Twitter microblog.
“It is important that we take careful and thoughtful steps to avoid a humanitarian disaster in Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh. Once this is secured, we will be able to personally discuss current political issues. Artsakh has consistently expressed its readiness for negotiations within international frameworks; now it is time to apply pressure on Aliyev so that he takes responsibility instead of creating conditions for war and starving the people of Artsakh,” Vardanyan emphasized.
