I Demand a Video Call with My Father: Vagif Khachatryan's Daughter Appeals to the ICRC
The daughter of Vagif Khachatryan, an Armenian from Artsakh who was abducted by Azerbaijan, Vera Khachatryan, is demanding a video call with her father from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Vera made this statement during a protest outside the ICRC's office in Armenia.
“I demand the International Committee of the Red Cross to facilitate a video call with my father so that I can know his physical condition. They say we can convey messages verbally, but none of our family has anything to convey verbally. I need to see my father to understand his condition; he might be in a coma or may no longer be physically with us, which is why they are not providing a video call,” stated the daughter of Vagif Khachatryan.
It is noteworthy that Vagif Khachatryan was abducted by representatives of the Azerbaijani border service on July 29 in the Lachin corridor. The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's office announced that he has been arrested. Vagif Khachatryan is accused of allegedly creating a criminal group involved in crimes against the residents of the village of Meshali in the Khojaly region on December 21, 1991.
