Photographers: French Extreme Sportsman Falls from 68th Floor in Hong Kong
A well-known French extreme sportsman has died in Hong Kong after falling from the 68th floor of a residential building. 30-year-old Rémi Lucidi was reportedly climbing the Tregunter Tower when he plummeted, according to the South China Morning Post.
Lucidi, who is known online as Remy Enigma, was declared dead at the scene. According to Hong Kong officials, Lucidi arrived at the building around 6 PM and informed a security guard that he was heading to a friend's apartment on the 40th floor. The security guard attempted to apprehend the young man after a resident of the apartment confirmed that they did not recognize Lucidi, but by that time, he had already entered the elevator.
Later, security cameras captured Lucidi ascending to the 49th floor and then climbing to the rooftop via stairs. Witnesses reported that they discovered the rooftop access “hatch” was open, but the visitor was nowhere to be seen.
Police stated that the last sighting of the man was at 7:38 PM when he was knocking on the penthouse window, prompting the maid to contact the authorities. According to police, Lucidi was trapped outside the penthouse and was striking the window, asking for help. After that, he fell from a great height.
At the scene, officers discovered Lucidi's camera, which contained footage of his other extreme activities. The investigation has yet to determine the official cause of death.
