Caspian Sea Region in Azerbaijan Shaken by Earthquake Felt in Armenia
The Azerbaijani part of the Caspian Sea has been shaken by an earthquake. On July 26, at 11:03 AM local time (07:03 AM GMT), the Armenian National Ministry of Emergency Situations' seismic protection territorial service reported a quake registered at geographical coordinates 39.32° N latitude and 49.22° E longitude, 8 km south of the city of Neftchala in Azerbaijan, with a depth of 10 km and a magnitude of 4.7.
The intensity of the tremor in the epicentral zone reached 6-7 on the Richter scale. The earthquake was felt in the city of Kapan at an intensity of 2-3, and in the cities of Stepanakert and Martuni at a magnitude of 3.
