US Supports Ukraine Summit in Saudi Arabia Amidst Withdrawal of Participants

U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller announced during a press briefing that the United States supports the upcoming summit in Saudi Arabia aimed at resolving the Ukrainian conflict. Multilateral negotiations are expected to take place this week in Jeddah, without Russian participation.

Miller also confirmed that representatives from the U.S. government will be attending this meeting. However, he declined to disclose the list of countries that have been invited and have agreed to participate.

Earlier reports had indicated that U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan is set to travel to Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, there are already participants who have withdrawn from the summit. Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated at a press conference that there is no point in participating in the negotiations without Russia.
