We Informed the Russian Side in Advance About Sending Assistance: Vahan Kostanyan to ‘Liberty’

Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan stated in an interview with Radio Liberty that they had informed Russian peacekeepers about the initiative to send humanitarian aid.

“At this moment, unfortunately, there are no positive developments. However, the humanitarian cargo that the Republic of Armenia wishes to send to Nagorno-Karabakh, because the humanitarian situation there is indeed very acute, continues to be near the entrance of the Lachin corridor. We had also informed the Russian peacekeepers in advance that the government of the Republic of Armenia has such a desire and is undertaking such an initiative. We are still waiting for developments. We hope that Azerbaijan will implement the provisions of the trilateral statement of November 9 and the decisions of the International Court of Justice of the UN from February 22 and July 6, according to which uninterrupted passage for people, cargo, and vehicles must be ensured through the Lachin corridor,” Kostanyan said.

When asked whether it was prior notification, information, or an agreement, as these are different matters, Vahan Kostanyan replied: “It was a notification.”
