Goris Has 448 Tons of Humanitarian Aid in Storage That We Cannot Dispatch: Khachatryan
In the storage facilities of the Goris local government for the Artsakh government, there are 448 tons of humanitarian aid that cannot be sent out. Yuri Khachatryan, the Deputy Permanent Representative of Artsakh in Armenia, stated this in an interview with 'News'.
Since December of last year, when Artsakh found itself under blockade under the false pretext of environmental issues, the Armenian government in Goris initiated the storage of humanitarian aid. The last supplies from the Goris warehouses to Artsakh were delivered on June 7 by vehicles of Russian peacekeepers.
Arkadi Gasparyan, responsible for the storage facilities of the Artsakh government, informed the media that the warehouses currently hold seeds, buckwheat, lentils, corn, and sugar.
“So far, we have been able to send 1296 tons of received humanitarian aid to Artsakh. At this time, unfortunately, there are still 448 tons of humanitarian aid in storage that we cannot send to Artsakh. Moreover, I would like to emphasize that what we have in the Goris storage facilities is not limited to the provided aid. There are about 380 tons currently in Yerevan. There are organizations that are willing to provide assistance as well. All of this depends on when the road opens, and when we will be able to send it. This cargo needs to reach Artsakh as soon as possible because, in reality, the situation of our compatriots is worsening hour by hour. There are no essential supplies, no food, no medicines,” Khachatryan said.
