We Have Reached a Point Where Azerbaijan Involved Azerbaijani Doctors and Set Conditions in Front of the Red Cross: Gurgen Nersisyan

About 70% of agricultural harvest-related work in Artsakh remains incomplete, and it is no longer possible to continue. This was stated by the State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, Gurgen Nersisyan, in an interview with Armenian Public Television, referring to the situation created due to the blockade of the Lachin corridor, as reported by Artsakhpress.

“There are massive layoffs in the private sector, and there is a large army of unemployed people, which is a significant burden on the state financially,” Nersisyan said.

“Public transport in Stepanakert is not operating. We are trying to ensure, at a minimal level, the connection of the surrounding regions with Stepanakert. And I repeat, at a minimal level,” the official noted.

According to him, there is also a problem related to waste management, which could lead to serious epidemiological and sanitary issues. Nersisyan also spoke about the steps being taken by the Azerbaijani side regarding the crossing point established in the Lachin corridor, where doctors were involved during the transfer of patients by the International Committee of the Red Cross.

“Azerbaijan's ingenuity knows no bounds. Ultimately, we have reached a point where Azerbaijan involved Azerbaijani doctors and set conditions in front of the ‘Red Cross’ that patients going to Armenia must undergo additional medical examinations at the crossing point,” the State Minister stated.

“These are conditions aimed at undermining the dignity of our citizens and putting them in an uncomfortable situation. And how do you imagine our citizens being subjected to medical examinations by Azerbaijanis under these conditions? I do not rule out, moreover, I am confident that this process will even be in the view of cameras,” Gurgen Nersisyan emphasized.
