Arayik Harutyunyan Calls on Armenian Authorities to Be More Cautious in Their Statements

The leader of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, has stated that Artsakh will continue its fight for self-determination and has urged the Armenian authorities to be cautious in their statements regarding the recognition of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. This was reported by Interfax.

"No country can deprive us of the right to self-determination. I call on the Armenian authorities to be more cautious in their statements. The right to self-determination is an international norm, our right, which we are exercising even today," Harutyunyan said during a press conference held on Monday, responding to a media question.

He noted that regardless of the statements made, Artsakh will continue its fight for self-determination.

Previously, Armenian authorities announced that they recognize Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, including Artsakh.

Arayik Harutyunyan also emphasized that he is ready for dialogue with Baku, which "should also consider our rights and act on the principle of equality."

Harutyunyan stated that the Lachin corridor, which connects Artsakh with Armenia, should be unblocked to prevent a humanitarian disaster and ensure food supply, but at the same time opposed Azerbaijan's proposal to supply food via the Barda-Aghdam road.

He pointed out that Russian peacekeepers stationed in Artsakh are also facing difficulties regarding food provisions, and "they are also relying on our scarce food supplies."
