Zakharova on Assassination Attempts Against Simonyan and Sobchak

The head of RT and the international media group "Rossiya Segodnya," Margarita Simonyan, as well as journalist Ksenia Sobchak, were targets of unexecuted assassination attempts by Ukrainian special services due to their professional activities. This statement was made by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"This is yet another attempt to carry out a terrorist attack against Russian civilians, organized by the Kyiv regime, which is carefully sponsored by Western coordinators. Now law enforcement agencies are clarifying all the details, but it is already evident that the reason for the aborted assassination attempt is the professional activities of Russian journalists,” the statement reads.

According to Zakharova, this once again illustrates the terrorist nature of Vladimir Zelensky's regime, and there is no need to expect a reaction from profile international organizations.
