Strengthened Police Services in Gegharkunik on Vardavar Day

On Vardavar Day, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will implement strengthened services in Gegharkunik. This announcement was made by the Gegharkunik Province Governor’s office:

“On July 16th, Vardavar is celebrated, which marks the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ. Like every year, this time the police will conduct enhanced services to ensure the safe leisure of citizens. As part of the strengthened services, police will maintain public order at beaches, along roadway sections, and in areas surrounding tourist attractions.

The Gegharkunik Provincial Police and its divisions will carry out enhanced services in the coastal areas of Lake Sevan and on the province's road sections. The special water rescue squad of the Gegharkunik Provincial Police will be on duty with all personnel at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd public beaches, while the personnel of the Rescue Service will operate in the coastal zone of Lake Sevan in the Shogakat community of the enlarged Chambarak community.

The Patrol Service of the RA Police will also carry out strengthened services with 35 units, of which 15 will be in Sevan and Chambarak, 7 in Gavar, 8 in Martuni, and 5 in Vardenis. More than 200 police forces from the Gegharkunik regional division will be involved on 32 routes, maintaining public order in and around Lake Sevan.

Dear citizens, I urge you to be more vigilant while traveling, to strictly adhere to safety rules, to be sober while driving, and not to endanger the lives and health of yourselves or other participants in traffic. Let’s not disrupt the festive atmosphere of the day, but rather work together to prevent possible incidents.”
