VIDEO: The State Revenue Committee Discloses Illegal Sand Quarry
The State Revenue Committee's investigative and operational intelligence department has revealed that the company "K. Narek" LLC is conducting the extraction of sand and sand-gravel mixture in the agricultural land located in the administrative area of the village of Sis in the Ararat region, specifically at the middle of the field road and the drainage ditch.
It has also been established that the company extracting sand-gravel mixture in this area does not have any permission for mineral extraction, particularly for the extraction of sand-gravel mixture, within the territory of the Republic of Armenia, and has never possessed such permission.
In order to ensure the diversity and completeness of the information obtained during the operational-intelligence measures, the department’s employees collaborated with employees from the environmental and mineral inspection bodies of the Republic of Armenia. According to the measurements conducted by them, it has been established that a total area of 6,554 square meters has been disturbed, from which 14,689 cubic meters of sandy mountain mass has been removed. This activity has degraded an area of 12,293 square meters.
Based on the factual data obtained from the operational-intelligence measures, a report was created regarding the unauthorized use of the natural resources of the subsurface, and based on this, an administrative procedure has been initiated in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Armenia on “The Fundamentals of Administrative Proceedings.” The report and accompanying materials have been sent to the Legal Department of the State Revenue Committee for discussing the administrative liability of the individual.
Additionally, a preliminary assessment of the damage caused to the state has been conducted, amounting to approximately 36 million 763 thousand AMD. A criminal case has been initiated in the main directorate for the investigation of economic crimes and smuggling of the RA Investigative Committee.
