VIDEO: Why did Anna Hakobyan go to a bunker? Pashinyan explains

"It is not a fact that Movses Hakobyan, who published that information, had the right to be in that bunker," Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today during a session of the parliamentary investigative committee, responding to the question of why a person without security clearance, for instance, David Galstyan, was present at the command center, as well as why his wife, Anna Hakobyan, was in Artsakh during those days and had interactions with the political and military leadership of Artsakh.

"This is not a fact, as he was the head of the military control department of the Ministry of Defense at that time and was not at his workplace under martial law. Should this issue be investigated? Secondly, he was there," Pashinyan stated, and then recounted how Movses Hakobyan made the decision to evacuate the 7th Defense Zone of Nagorno-Karabakh without having the authority to do so.

Addressing the issue related to the command center, the Prime Minister clarified that just being in uniform does not mean one can be present everywhere. Speaking about Anna Hakobyan’s presence there, Pashinyan noted, when there is a war in Artsakh, she cannot remain idle in Yerevan, as help is needed for the people there in Stepanakert. "The symbolic meaning of my wife's presence there was also to ensure our presence there. And during that time, there were communications with the leadership of Nagorno-Karabakh, and the idea arose that perhaps it makes sense for us to go for 10 minutes so that the command structure sees that the wife of the Prime Minister of Armenia is in Stepanakert," he emphasized. According to him, Anna Hakobyan was only at the command center for about 10-15 minutes.
