VIDEO. Pashinyan on the Situation in Artsakh
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has presented his views on the resolution of the situation surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh. According to him, the first step should be the implementation of the decision of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) under the United Nations.
“This is a matter of international agenda, including concerning the UN Security Council, as this body is authorized to ensure the implementation of the decisions of the International Court of Justice,” he stated.
The Prime Minister deemed it necessary to activate an international mechanism for dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert, within the framework of which the rights and security issues of the Armenian population in Nagorno-Karabakh will be addressed.
“As for Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, our position remains the same – we must exert all efforts to establish peace and sign an agreement to normalize relations,” he added.
He announced that next week, a meeting will take place in Washington between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the Armenian delegation will travel to the United States with this intent.
