Video: A Citizen of Russia Arrested for Transferring Cryptocurrency to the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Federal Security Service of Russia has arrested a resident of the Khabarovsk region on suspicion of state treason. It has been reported that the man transferred his personal cryptocurrency to the Ukrainian armed forces for the purchase of drones and other equipment.

According to a statement from the press service, "The illegal activities of the Khabarovsk region resident were suppressed in the form of providing financial assistance to the Ukrainian armed forces aimed at actions against the security of the Russian Federation."

Additionally, the FSB has released videos showing the suspect's arrest, the search of his home, and the court's order for his detention. The arrested individual is Alexander Vecherkon, born in 1968 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine.

The detainee transferred cryptocurrency to the account of a foreign fund through intermediaries living in Ukraine. The funds were used to purchase drones, thermal imaging devices, as well as ammunition and medical supplies for the Ukrainian army.

A criminal case has been opened against the man under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for "Treason."
