EU Approves 11th Sanctions Package Against Russia

EU ambassadors have agreed on the 11th sanctions package against Russia in connection with the military operations in Ukraine. This was announced by representatives from Sweden, which currently holds the presidency of the EU.

The agreement has received a positive response from Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission. The new sanctions package is reported to deliver "yet another blow to Putin's military machine," according to DW’s Russian service, adding that as part of these measures, EU countries will tighten export restrictions for companies that support the Kremlin.

It was previously reported that the new package is set to impose restrictions on dozens of companies from various countries that assist Russia in circumventing sanctions.
