False Information: Attempts to Create Panic in Artsakh, Says Minister’s Office

Since June 15, 2023, when Azerbaijan suspended humanitarian shipments via the road connecting Artsakh to Armenia, some have been spreading false information to incite panic among the public. This information comes from the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Office of the State Minister of Artsakh.

For example, rumors have been circulating about a supposed three-day supply of flour and a complete lack of essential goods. While there is indeed a significant shortage of various products due to a six-month blockade and severely limited cargo transfers, we declare that these claims are unfounded and false.

The government of the Republic of Artsakh has long taken all possible measures to meet the current needs of the population and to cope with additional challenges. The government is focused not only on the daily problems of the people but also on potential future risks that fall within the responsibilities of the executive authority.

Therefore, if the government has moved towards the economical use of available resources, it does not mean that there are no resources at all or that the state is unprepared within the limits of existing opportunities. Thanks to the efforts made, Artsakh has a sufficient level of self-sufficiency in several essential goods, including flour.

On the other hand, it is indeed impossible to completely avoid the negative effects of the total blockade under the exhausting conditions of restricted supplies, and the government will do everything possible to mitigate the impact of these issues on the population of Artsakh.

Those carried away by criticism and disregarding the nerves of our compatriots forget that their declared few days will pass, and in the case of no bread crisis, they will have to resort to other fabrications.
