VIDEO: Lawyers Protest in Armor and Helmet

Lawyers have held a protest today, June 20, in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

One of the lawyers arrived at the building wearing a bulletproof vest and a helmet, holding a sign that read "No to Violence." He stated, "These helmets protect us from police blows. There has always been poor treatment, but we have not spoken up about it. This way, I feel somewhat protected."

The protesters are demanding the revocation of the powers of police officers who have committed violence against lawyers.

It is noteworthy that the lawyers organized another protest near the Prosecutor's Office yesterday. They gifted a television to the Chief Prosecutor Anna Vardapetyan, stating that through the television, she would become aware of the violence inflicted on lawyers.

Previously, they had marched from the Bar Association building to the EU office, informing that "the funds provided by the EU are being used to commit violence against lawyers."

Let us remember that on June 7, lawyer Karen Alaverdyan was subjected to police violence at a police station after attempting to prevent violence against his client by police. Earlier, a similar case of violence had occurred against lawyers Marzpet Avagyan and Emmanuel Ananyan. This incident took place at the Erebuni Police Station, where the lawyers were representing the interests of their minor client.
