«I Did Not Agree for Peacekeepers to Be Deployed in Meghri», Says Pashinyan
«In the context of the proposal from October 19, a new idea was also voiced as an additional condition to stop the war,» Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today at the meeting of the National Assembly's inquiry committee while presenting the attempts to halt the autumn 2020 war.
«Peacekeepers were to be deployed not only in Artsakh and along the Lachin corridor but also in Meghri to secure Azerbaijan's communication with its western regions to Nakhchivan. I did not agree to that either. I did not agree to create a strip (that is, a corridor) on the territory of Armenia, not under Armenian control—stating that I agree to the road, but not to the corridor,» Pashinyan emphasized, noting that his position on this issue has not changed to this day.
