Russia and Iran Will Be the Losers from the Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Agreement, Says Former Israeli Communications Minister
Former Israeli Communications Minister Ayoub Kara has published an article discussing the impending peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“The beneficiaries of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia will be Israel, the USA, Europe, and Turkey. The biggest losers will be Russia and Iran, which will lose their spheres of influence. Following the latest negotiations in Moscow, the Kremlin had an opportunity to slightly improve its image. However, after the peace agreement, Iran's influence in the South Caucasus will diminish. This would be a significant victory for Israel,” the author stated in the article.
In the article, he emphasized that Armenia also stands to gain a lot from the peace agreement. Specifically, instead of being a small, landlocked country reliant on internationally rejected nations like Russia and Iran for survival, Armenia could thrive and prosper with a revived economy that engages in trade with Azerbaijan and Turkey. This would allow the Armenian people not only to live without conflicts but also to enjoy a dignified economy and standard of living.
“Israel could benefit greatly once peace is established between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The risk of landmines would decrease, and the agricultural potential of the region would increase. This would lead to a significant rise in the export of Azerbaijani agricultural products to Israel, alongside the export of Israeli technologies to Azerbaijan,” Ayoub Kara wrote in the article.
