Armenian Foreign Ministry Expresses Strong Discontent to Russian Ambassador Over Incident Near the Hakari Bridge
Yesterday, in connection with the incident involving Russian peacekeepers near the Hakari Bridge, the Armenian Foreign Ministry expressed its strong discontent during a meeting with the Russian Ambassador. This was reported by the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
It was noted that a call was made to take all necessary steps to clarify the circumstances of the incident and to rectify the situation.
Recall that a video surfaced on social media yesterday showing the incident near the Hakari Bridge. The footage shows the commander of the Russian peacekeepers, Alexander Lentsov, approaching the bridge as Azerbaijani soldiers attempt to place a flag in the territory of Armenia. After his arrival, the peacekeepers not only did not try to obstruct the Azerbaijanis but also seemingly supported them.
Earlier footage also showed how, following the actions of the Armenian National Security Service's border forces, the Azerbaijanis and their accompanying peacekeepers took cover behind a Russian peacekeeper's armored vehicle.
It is also worth remembering that on June 15, around 08:40, a group of Azerbaijani border service soldiers attempted to advance towards the Hakari Bridge in order to place a flag in Armenian territory. Thanks to the measures taken by the Armenian side, the Azerbaijani soldiers' attempt to advance and place a flag on Armenian territory was prevented.
