Head of Verin Shorja Community on the Situation in the Village
The shots fired by the Azerbaijani armed forces last night were directed towards the positions of Verin Shorja, but they were not heard in the village, and the situation is calm now. This was reported to NEWS.am by Artem Yranosyan, the head of the Verin Shorja community, who noted that there is no panic in the village.
“People are always prepared and vigilant, but there is no panic. People are busy with their agricultural work, and in a month the hay harvest will begin; we will see how they manage that. The hay fields are under Azerbaijani control, and I believe no one can hay in those areas. The pastures are also under their surveillance, which is why we have reduced the livestock by half,” he said.
He also mentioned that there is no emigration from the village.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that on June 18, between 03:20 and 04:10, subdivisions of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire from various caliber firearms towards the Armenian positions located in the eastern (Verin Shorja, Sotk) and southeastern (Nerkin Hand) directions of the border zone.
