Kosovo Bans Entry of Vehicles with Serbian License Plates

The government of Kosovo has decided to ban vehicles with Serbian license plates from entering the country, as announced by government spokesperson Perparim Kryeziu. This information was reported by Kosov Online.

Kryeziu stated to Radio Free Europe that the decision to increase border control levels was made following the arrest of three members of the Kosovo police by Serbian authorities.

“For security reasons, institutions have decided to raise the level of border control; thus, as an urgent measure, it has been decided to forbid the entry of vehicles with Serbian license plates into Kosovo while the situation is still being assessed by security agencies. Additional actions will be taken based on recommendations from law enforcement agencies,” he clarified.
