Meeting of the Chief Prosecutors of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan

A trilateral meeting of the chief prosecutors of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan took place in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Federation's prosecutor's office.

Today, welcoming foreign guests at the trilateral meeting, the Chief Prosecutor of Russia, Igor Krasnov, noted that holding the meeting at the Tauride Palace, where many fateful decisions have been made over the centuries, provides all opportunities for success.

The event marks the fifth meeting held in a similar format since 2021. The previous trilateral meeting took place in December 2022 in Moscow, where the heads of the prosecutor's offices of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan discussed prospects for cooperation.

Igor Krasnov expressed appreciation for the mutual willingness to continue professional dialogue, thanking both sides for their constructive approach towards further cooperation.

“As you know, a month ago the leaders of our states held their regular meeting. During that meeting, the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia agreed to develop mutually acceptable solutions to a number of pressing issues concerning the regulation of livelihoods in the border areas,” emphasized Igor Krasnov. “In this regard, I find it extremely important that we continue to maintain permanent connections, monitor the implementation of agreements reached, and address issues of peace, security, and stable economic development in the region, as well as the stabilization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations.”

The head of the Russian supervisory agency pointed out that such events are a vivid example of a civilized way to solve even the most difficult problems, contributing to the restoration of legality and order, normalizing the life of the peaceful population, and preventing new security threats from arising.

“In this regard, I propose to better synchronize our actions, utilizing the full potential of human rights prosecutors, focusing primarily on the interests of citizens,” stated Igor Krasnov.

The Russian Chief Prosecutor emphasized, “I personally, and all my subordinates, including military prosecutors located in the border zone, will continue to provide the necessary assistance to ensure constructive cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides. At the same time, I see the prevention of escalation as a primary task. I am confident that through joint efforts, we will be able to create secure conditions for the harmonious development of the region and a dignified life for all those who live in it.”
