Strong Fire in Kazan Skyscraper: Almost Entire Roof Ablaze
Footage of a fire has emerged from Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, Russia. A blaze broke out in one of the high-rise buildings on Chekhov Street. According to reports, the fire initially ignited in an apartment on the top floor, and then the flames spread to the roof.
Residents are being evacuated. The burning building in Kazan contains 66 apartments, and the heads of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts, Albert Salikhov, have arrived at the scene.
Officials have started preparing accommodation for the temporarily displaced residents. Firefighters and other emergency services are already on site. There have been no casualties or injuries reported.
