Video: 5 Members of Titan Submersible Died Due to Catastrophic Implosion, US Coast Guard Confirms
The US Coast Guard has confirmed that the five crew members of the missing Titan submersible died due to a "catastrophic implosion," according to the Independent.
"The crew of the Titan has perished due to the submersible's implosion. Underwater pressure literally squeezed the vessel, located 487 meters from the wreck site of the Titanic," said a representative of the US Coast Guard.
The crew members of the Titan submersible included Stockton Rush, the CEO of Oceangate Expeditions; Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman; British billionaire Hamish Harding; and French adventurer Paul-Henri Nargeolet.
It is worth recalling that the submersible lost contact two hours after descending 4,000 meters to view the Titanic on Sunday.
