Police Statement on Accident on Grigor Lusavorich Street

The Armenian Police have released a clarification regarding the accident that occurred this morning on Grigor Lusavorich Street.

"It has been noted that the accident happened due to the partial closure of the road for the vehicle convoy of the Minister of Internal Affairs. We clarify that a service investigation has already been initiated in the Internal Security Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs concerning the mentioned traffic accident. The actions of the accompanying personnel and their causal relationship with the accident will also be subject to discussion within the framework of the service investigation. Additionally, a criminal case has been initiated in the pre-trial body. Further information will be provided regarding the results," the statement reads.

Earlier, Daniel Ioannisyan, coordinator of the 'Informed Citizens' NGO, wrote on his Facebook page that the chain of events leading to the overturning of the vehicle on Grigor Lusavorich began with the partial closure of the road for Vahe Ghazaryan's convoy.
