Three-Year-Old Child Pulled from Lake in Syunik, Unable to Save
On June 12, at 5:28 PM, the crisis management center of the Syunik regional rescue department received a report about a missing child in the village of Hartashen, requiring the assistance of rescuers, according to the Emergency Situations Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A firefighting-rescue team and an operational group were dispatched to the scene from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was revealed that before the rescuers arrived, A.V. (born in 2020) had already been pulled from a lake near the village of Hartashen by local forces and taken to Goris Medical Center, where doctors confirmed the child's death.
During the search operations for A.V., a civilian, A.D. (born in 1979), fell from a rock approximately 30 meters high and injured his foot. Rescuers carried the victim out of the gorge (about 100 meters) on a stretcher and brought him to an ambulance; he was subsequently hospitalized at Goris Medical Center.
