Seven Injured in Major Car Accident in Armavir, Including Three Children

A major car accident occurred today in the Armavir region. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.

At approximately 15:50, two Mercedes vehicles collided on the 30 km section of the Yerevan-Armavir highway, within the administrative area of the village of Arshaluys.

As a result of the accident, seven individuals, including three children, were taken to the Vagharshapat medical center with bodily injuries. Following the collision, both vehicles left the roadway, with one ending up in the median strip's grass, and the other in a field.

The children were transferred from Vagharshapat medical center to the Yerevan Surb Astvatsamayr medical center via ambulance.

Witnesses at the scene indicated that the chief of police for the Armavir region accompanied three of the injured to the hospital.

A preliminary investigation has been initiated by the Vagharshapat investigative department regarding the accident. The police and investigative department are working to determine the identities of the drivers and the injured.

Following the investigator's instructions, the vehicles involved are being moved to the secure area of the Vagharshapat police department.

The drivers underwent sobriety tests on site, revealing that the driver of the Mercedes with license plate 36 CV 577 was under the influence of alcohol. A young man who arrived at the scene attempted to convince traffic police that he was the driver, but this effort proved unsuccessful. The actual driver later admitted that the person who tried to pose as him was actually his son.
